Peru Earthquake

A major earthquate has devastated a large territory south of the capital city of Lima Peru. The port city of Pisco has lost its basic infrastructure with 80% of its houses being destroyed. Severe damages have also been sustained in the cities of Chincha, Canete and Ica. The death toll in the catastrophe exceeds 550. We join the Peruvian Medical Society in partnership with International Relief organizations and Brothers and Brother in assisting to restore the medical infrastructure that have meager economical resources.

We encourage more blood donations by Latinos. Hispanics have higher type O rates considered as universal blood donors which can be used by more patients. Whites 37%, blacks 47%, Venezuela 54%, Guatemala 62% and Mexico 71%. Asians undetermined at present.
